09-22-13 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

09-22-13
(25th Sunday Ordinary Time C)
Jesus taught His disciples about Prudence, Priorities and Prosperity,
for living in a world of non-sense, yet being a part of God’s Wisdom.

He did this by telling a parable about a shrewd business man who was threatened
with the loss of his job.  Unlike today’s lack of business scruples, where WE are shown
the door with no warning, the man was given one last chance before “the axe” was dropped.  And with that chance he used all of his wisdom to preserve his integrity
in the outside world and so allow the possibility of opportunities for survival
after he was fired.  He was Prudent and he Prioritized survival over Greed
when the chips were down.
In the end he Prospered, because his shrewdness paid off in the
impression he made on his boss.

The analogy was made to how we deal with the Gifts (the Job) God has given us.
Are we using them Prudently and Prioritizing His will over ours?
Or are we squandering those gifts for our own self-serving greed?
Are we trying to serve both our own greed and the Lord at the same time,
and ending up serving neither effectively?  Jesus said,
“No servant can serve two masters.
He will either hate one and love the other,
or be devoted to one and despise the other.”  Lk 16:1-13

If we can learn to deal with the non-sense of the world
in a Prudent, and just, and trustworthy way, while
preserving our own integrity by Prioritizing God
over “self,” then we too will find,
in the end, the Prosperity
of LIFE in His Kingdom
forever!

And that’s quite an AWESOME deal, beloved!
