12-05-13 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’
will enter the Kingdom of heaven,
but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.”
“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them
will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.”  Mt 7:21, 24-27

house_on_the_rockJesus differentiates, in this passage, listening and doing.
Listening to Jesus’ Words is like building a house.
We learn right from wrong.  We learn good from bad.
We learn the difference between saying we love
and actually loving.
But if we don’t act on that advice,
if we don’t follow those commands,
then that house is not worth very much,
because the first wind or storm that comes by
(temptations), and our house will fall.

It would be like going to school for years and years
to become a doctor.

And after you finally graduated, you became a sales clerk at WalMart instead.
Don’t waste Jesus’ Words, beloved.
Act on them and that “Rock” will be unmovable!

You ARE truly Loved : )
