(Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary)
Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.
May it be done to me according to your word.” Lk 1:26-38
Maybe the reason most people misunderstand the
Immaculate Conception to mean the
conception of Jesus is that
the Scripture readings used for this Solemnity
speak of the conception of Jesus
and not of Mary, because
there is no mention of Mary’s conception and birth
in the Scriptures of the Bible.
The Immaculate Conception actually refers to the
sinless conception of Mary.
A reference to the source of this information can be found in
the Protevangelion of James which I’ve quoted in
The Birth of Mary Page in ColorMe4Life.com.
From there, you can get to The Life of Mary Our Mother videos also.
May the Mother of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
bless you always, beloved, in His Love!
