(The Virgin Mother)
On the third day before Christmas my True Love gave to me . . .
a pregnant virgin, not an oxymoron, but a Truth that can set us all free!
The Lord had said through the prophet (Isaiah):
“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,”
which means God is with us. Is 7:10-14
A Truth . . .
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about.
When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with child through the Holy Spirit. Mt 1:18-24
. . . Just as the Angel Gabriel had promised.
– The wheels were set in motion . . .
Joseph was prepared for the unexpected.
Elizabeth and Zechariah were awaiting their own surprise (the birth of John).
And Caesar was authoring a decree, the consequence of which, would be recorded
in history for all time. For it would take this Holy Family away from their home
in Nazareth, to begin the long Journey that would have eternal benefits,
for EVERYONE. . .
The BIRTH of the Savior of the world,
Emmanuel – God is with us!
