03-01-14 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

March 1, 2014
Jesus said, “Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the Kingdom of God like a child will not enter it.”  Mk 10:13-16

So what’s so great about children?  Well, children fully understand that they can not completely fend for themselves.  Their parents feed them, keep them clothed and sheltered.   Their parents provide them entertainment.  Their teachers train them.  And they can’t drive themselves around, so the rely completely on others for survival.

They may not think of it in those terms, but they just know.  Jesus is saying that we adults also need to have that kind of trust and reliance on God.  When we can accept His Kingdom, just as a child accepts the assistance of others – acknowledging that we can not do it all by ourselves – then we will be welcomed into that Kingdom forever!

May He bless you always, beloved children!
