(St. Patrick, Bishop)

clover crossJesus spoke with His disciples about being merciful to others, about not judging and condemning but forgiving instead.  And He said, “For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.
Lk 6:36-38

Hmmm, there we go again with that “Golden Rule.”  Remember cutting that favorite cake or pie of ours, and then distributing the pieces.  Did we take the biggest?  Did we give it to our favorite friend?  Or did we give it to our most despised enemy!!

Piece of Cake

Funny how we learn at so young an age the joys of giving vs the guilt of selfishness.  Jesus tells us to go beyond just the joy of giving to our favorite friends.  He says that we should give our best, even to our enemies.  Instead of spite, we give.  And you know what – that enemy just might become a new favorite and someone who would stand up for us when all of our other, supposed favorites, abandon us!

Deep heart blessings to you, beloved!
Happy St. Patrick’s day.
