03-20-14 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

March 20, 2014
Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose hope is the LORD.  He is like a tree planted beside the waters that stretches out its roots to the stream: it fears not the heat when it comes, its leaves stay green.  In the year of drought it shows no distress, but still bears fruit.”  Jer 17:5-10

What a beautiful picture of our hope.  In the past year I’ve lost two huge 50 ft. tall pine trees in the wind because of a drought a couple years ago.  With shallow roots there was nothing to nourish them and nothing to hold them up against the storms.

Unlike those shallow rooted trees, our FAITH in the Lord is the tap root that always nourishes us and strengthens us, even in the storms of life.  And when this earthly life is complete we will continue growing always in the Lord, bearing fruit that will last!

Blessings, beloved, always!
