03-22-14 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

March 22, 2014
Jesus speaks of a father’s forgiveness, even after a rebellious son disowns him.  And then He gives another example of the unforgiving brother who was grudgingly dedicated to his father.
The father explains to the son,  “My son, you are here with me always; everything I have is yours. But now we must celebrate and rejoice, because your brother was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.” Lk 15:1-3, 11-32

Who is it beloved, who has come in from the blue and invaded our territory?  Who gets all the favor after all of our years of seniority?Should they be welcomed?  Should they be forgiven?  Jesus says, rejoice!  For every time one of the “lost” is found – there is reason to be glad – and that just makes us one step closer to our own eternal happiness!  Rejoice!
