04-17-14 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

April 17, 2014
(Holy Thursday – Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper)
Jesus said, “You call me ‘teacher’ and ‘master,’ and rightly so, for indeed I am. If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet.  I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.”  Jn 13:1-15

It was the Passover.  And prior to eating, Jesus did something quite remarkable.  He took the role of the lowest servant and washed his disciples’ feet.  And in their complaints, He told them that unless they did likewise for others, they had no part of Him.  Are we willing, beloved, to stoop down to the lowest place to raise others up?  Maybe it’s not the poor beggar, but the poor rich man who needs some attention as well.  Jesus is calling us to be that light to them all!  The light of hope in a world of hopelessness!
The light of Joy in a world of sorrows.
That’s the LOVE of Jesus!
