07-02-14 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

July 2, 2014
The Prophet Amos said, “Seek good and not evil, that you may live; Then truly will the LORD, the God of hosts, be with you as you claim! Hate evil and love good, and let justice prevail at the gate;”  Am 5:14-15, 21-24

Tough thing for many people to do in today’s world: resist evil and do good.  Especially when the world preaches competition, jealousy, revenge, and greed.  How then do we survive them with our sharing and humility, our forgiveness and generosity?

If we are the ones asking: “What have you to do with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the appointed time?” Mt 8:28-34  Then maybe we also should be the ones pleading, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of swine.ibid, because that is exactly where the evil should go, and that is exactly what evil looks like – a herd of swine rushing to their own demise.

Wild-BoarPray, beloved, for the strength to resist evil.
Love GOOD and live it,
and the God of all love and salvation will
strengthen you and bring you peace!
