Jesus said to the hemorrhaging woman, “Courage, daughter! Your faith has saved you.” Mt 9:18-26
We have two examples of extreme faith today. This woman believed so intently that just a touch of Jesus could heal her, that she was willing to go out beyond the law. She was willing to risk ridicule and banishment for her one chance to be cured of her incurable illness. You see, she already had the courage, but the salvation was granted her as well, because of her great faith in Jesus.
Jesus gives us the courage to risk, and the salvation of faith: Faith strong enough to take precarious action that will lead to certain reality.
The second example of extreme faith today, resulted, not only in salvation, but “remote” salvation. As the story went, the dead child was not resurrected because of her faith, but that of her father, who begged Jesus “My daughter has just died. But come, lay your hand on her, and she will live.” ibid
It brings us to the reality of intercessory prayer. Have you ever seen the “miraculous” turn around of an incurable cancer, the quick recovery of a person devastated by a disastrous accident, or even the revival of a person considered medically dead? THAT’s the result of FAITH in intercessory prayer to Jesus.
Jesus brings us courage. And when we have faith strong enough, not only to believe, but to take action on our belief – we WILL see our certainty turn into reality, when it is for the greater Good of God.
Believe, beloved, and BE!
