The LORD said through the prophet Jeremiah, “No longer will they have need to teach their friends and relatives how to know the LORD. All, from least to greatest, shall know me, says the LORD, for I will forgive their evildoing and remember their sin no more.” Jer 31:31-34
He WILL be known!
And when they say they don’t know, maybe, don’t always believe them. They may just be stubbornly refusing to acknowledge that inside they really DO know Him.
Jesus said to Peter, who was rebuking Jesus for telling him about His pending passion (because Peter still had a vision of Jesus being a ‘worldly’ king), “Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to me. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.” Mt 16:13-23
You see, beloved, there is more to Jesus as our King than fixing our worldly ills, than giving us those (maybe unnecessary) needs and wants. Jesus forgives. Jesus loves. Jesus consoles. And Jesus strengthens us to fix our own needs, with our own resources. And when they can’t be fixed, He gives us the courage to accept and move on. Even through death itself, WE MOVE ON. And we have faith that thus it will be. And He will be waiting for us there with open arms on the other side!
Get behind me Satan.
Jesus is in Control!
