08-10-14 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

August 10, 2014
(19th Sunday Ordinary Time A)
The disciples were astounded by Jesus’ walking on water, by Peter’s walking on the water as well, and by the calming of the storm.  They responded, “Truly, you are the Son of God.” Mt 14:22-33

Brooklyn_Museum_-_Jesus_Walks_on_the_Sea_(Jésus_marche_sur_la_mer)_-_James_Tissot_-_overallI wonder sometimes, what does it take for us to finally come to the realization that Jesus truly IS the Son of God?  It took Peter a denial and a resurrection.  It took Thomas a finger in a spear wound.  It took Paul a violent downfall and blinding light.  If only we could see how He is here with every breath we take.  How every time we enter into a car or a plane, it’s only by His grace that we arrive at our destination.  And how even in our suffering He is there to bring us comfort and hope – that there is something much, much greater to come, and that we are only a little bit closer to finally being there!

Truly YOU are the Son of God!
And we love you Jesus!
