09-02-14 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

September 2, 2014
The Jews of Capernaum spoke of Jesus, saying:  “What is there about his word?  For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.”  Lk 4:31-37

The Authority of Jesus’ Word . . .

– to the possessed, He said, “Be quiet! Come out of him!” Lk 4:35

– to the devil, “You shall not put the Lord, your God to the test” Mt 4:7

– to the disciples, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”  Mt 4:19

– to the crowds, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”  Mt 5:3

– “but I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father,”  Mt 5:44

– “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”  Mt 7:7

– “Do to others whatever you  would have them do to you.”  Mt 7:12

– “Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock”  Mt 7:24

– to the Centurion asking for the healing of his servant, Jesus said, “You may go; as you have believed, let it be done for you.” Mt 8:13

– to the paralytic, “Rise, pick up your stretcher, and go home.”  Mt 9:6

– to the tax collector Matthew, “Follow me.”  Mt 9:9

– to the disciples, “Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly father.  But whoever denies me before others, I will deny before my heavenly Father.”  Mt 10:32-33

– to the stormy sea, “Quiet!  Be still!”  Mk 5:39

– to the rich young man, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.”  Mt 19:21

– to the fig tree, “May no fruit ever come from you again. And immediately the fig tree withered.  Mt 21:19

– to Pilate, “For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth.  Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”  Jn 18:37

And we can go on and on and on . . .

Blessed be His Word,
the TRUTH!
