10-01-14 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

October 1, 2014
(Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus, Virgin and Doctor of the Church)
Jesus said to an interested inquirer, “Follow me.”  But he replied, “Lord, let me go first and bury my father.” But he answered him, “Let the dead bury their dead.  But you, go and proclaim the Kingdom of God.”  Lk 9:57-62

Sounded a little harsh, coming from Jesus.  But full of truth.  You see, the man’s father wasn’t even dead yet!  And it was all just another excuse!

How many times do we hear that, beloved?  Sure I’ll go to church, one of these days.  Sure I’ll pray in the morning.  Sure I’ll start reading the Bible.  Sure I’ll . . . . . someday!  So what is it that is so extremely important that is worth more than eternal life?  That is worth more than LIVING now?  Because more than likely, those without faith are already dead.  So Jesus says, come, NOW, and live, and tell the world that they can too!

Come to Jesus

Happy and Blessed October, beloved!
