11-03-14 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

November 3, 2014
(St. Martin de Porres)
St. Paul said, “Do nothing out of selfishness or out of vainglory; rather, humbly regard others as more important than yourselves,”  Phil 2:1-4

Jesus said, “when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you.  For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”   Lk 14:12-14

Which brings us to the question, “Is, what I do for others done for their benefit or for mine???”  And THAT’s a really heavy question!  One we can ponder all day long, in everything we do, in every thought we think.  When the answer finally, or occasionally, comes up that it was done purely for them, then, we are walking the pathway to God’s kingdom.  And we WILL be repaid, just as Jesus said!
