11-14-14 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

November 14, 2014
St. John wrote, “. . I ask you, not as though I were writing a new commandment but the one we have had from the beginning:  Let us love one another.”   2 Jn 4-9

. . . The BIGGEST priority in our lives – Love!
And St. John said, “God IS Love!”

Jesus, speaking to His disciples about His return in the “end times” said, “Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will save it.”  Lk 17:26-37

Whatever we cling to in the end will surely be the proof of our true commitment.  When that end is imminent, beloved, what will we grasp for?  Will it be photos or money, a pet or a statue, a computer or a cell phone?  Will we be able to take them with us wherever we go after this earthly life is completed?  Ummm, no!   Will we just follow the crowd?

whome

But if our TRUE commitment is the Lord, none of that other stuff will really matter.  And we WILL be with our Lord in the next life forever.  So the message is: that we need to grow SO absolutely close to Jesus in this life that when it IS over, He will be ALL that we grasp for and hang on to – through our journey back home.
