(1st Sunday of Advent, Year B)
The prophet Isaiah said, “No ear has ever heard, no eye ever seen, any God but you doing such deeds for those who wait for him.” Is 63:16b-17, 19b; 64:2-7
Happy Advent beloved! A new Church year! The B Year – when we concentrate now on the Gospel of Mark. And today, the first Sunday of Advent, we begin our memorial period of waiting.
We’re waiting for the coming of the new-born Christ Child on Christmas day. And we’re awaiting the return of Jesus at His next coming. The end of time? Or the just the end of our own physical lives? Either way, we are reminded to be prepared. Eliminate sin from our lives and generously give of ourselves to those in greater need – ALL through and in the love of Jesus within us. All in hope for the eternal life that Jesus promised to those who love Him.
Blessed be this awesome Season. Blessed be Jesus. And blessed be YOU beloved – for you are his beloved Child, now and for eternity!
