12-22-14 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

December 22, 2014
Mary said: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my savior.”  Lk 1:46-56

Hannah, the mother of Samuel (the Prophet) said to Eli the priest, “I am the woman who stood near you here, praying to the LORD.  I prayed for this child, and the LORD granted my request.  Now I, in turn, give him to the LORD; as long as he lives, he shall be dedicated to the LORD.”  1 Sm 1:24-28

The magnificent greatness of the Lord.  Mary didn’t ask for it, but the LORD blessed her as the mother of Jesus.  And Mary exulted her God in a song we call the Magnificat.  Hannah, on the other hand, unable to have children, prayed with all her heart that God would bless her with a child; and the LORD did just that. When we stay faithful to the LORD, He will see us through and then even go the “extra mile” with us.  Praise Him.  Praise Jesus.  Praise Mary.  And then remember, how very, very blessed we already are!
