01-27-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

January 27, 2015
“. . . when he (Jesus) came into the world, he said:

Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
but a body you prepared for me;
in burnt offerings and sin offerings you took no delight.
Then I said, As is written of me in the scroll,
Behold, I come to do your will, O God.

By this “will,” we have been consecrated through the offering of the Body of Jesus Christ once for all.   Heb 10:1-10

Yes, beloved, our good works DO help to make us holier.  But they do not take away our sins.  We cannot buy the forgiveness of our sins.  Jesus offers that gift to us when we recognize Him!  And in recognizing Him we want nothing more than to continue in life following the will of God.

Jesus said, “For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.
Mk 3:31-35

And that’s the closeness we want to have with Jesus!
