02-12-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

February 12, 2015
The Greek woman who was rejected by Jesus replied, “Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s scraps.”  Mk 7:24-30

How do we respond to rejection, beloved.  Do we get angry and walk away?  Do we look for vengeance?  Does it cut us to the bone and leave us depressed?  If we were told that we were not worthy of His healing, would we have responded like this woman?  “Look, Lord, give us a second chance – for even the dirt of the earth gets a sip of God’s rain once in a while.”

And lo and behold!  It’s that very dirt from which the God of all Creation first assembled mankind.  So how much more are we deserving of a second chance.  God loves us so very much – all we need do is ask in faith – and His response will be abundant!

Faith!
