(Sts. Perpetua and Felicity, Martyrs)
The Lord is kind and merciful.
He pardons all your iniquities, he heals all your ills. He redeems your life from destruction, he crowns you with kindness and compassion.   Ps 103

Today Jesus tells the parable of the Prodigal Son.  It’s the story of all of our lives: Greed and it’s consequences; Recognition of our errant ways and begging for mercy; The LOVE of a merciful and compassionate Father; The Jealousy of a bitter brother; And how sometimes the Jealousy can be much worse than the Greed ever was.

When we come back to God, beloved, and ask His forgiveness for all of our errant ways.  When we seek his help in showing us where we have gone wrong and how we can improve, God will ALWAYS come respond to us with forgiveness and love.  And in that Love, we will come to know that He was never gone in the first place.  He IS always there.  It is we who sometimes get lost and leave His side.  Come back, beloved, and know that – WE ARE NEVER ALONE!
