03-19-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

(St. Joseph, Husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary)
. . . the angel of the Lord appeared to him (Joseph) in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home.  For it is through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her.  She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”  When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home.   Mt 1:16, 18-21, 24a

It’s a story of obedience.  It’s a story of love.  Joseph heard and believed and then faithfully obeyed the message of the angel.  It was a story of forgiveness, for his misunderstanding, and a story of learning and accepting of the Truth of Mary’s virginal conception of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit and not by infidelity.  You see, beloved, miracles DO happen.  They’re all around us, if we listen and obey.  If we trust in God, we just may see miracles in our own lives as well.

Today we honor St. Joseph for his trust, his obedience, his understanding and his serving as such an awesome role model and step-father for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
