04-30-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

April 30, 2015
(St. Pius V, Pope)
When Jesus had washed the disciples’ feet, he said to them: “Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him.  If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it.”   Jn_13:16-20

Jesus, sent by God His Father – to teach and send disciples – to teach us about Him and about God the Father.  And yet, Jesus the Son of God, stooped to wash His disciples feet – and so His disciples do the same – and so should we.  Then, if we believe what the apostles taught us, if we believe what Jesus taught them, then we are to love one another just as Jesus did – by serving one another.  And not only serving those above us – our bosses, our parents, our elders – but we are to serve the poor and the needy as well.  We stoop beneath them to lift them up to the saving Grace of Jesus – because He did just that for us!  How very blessed we are, beloved!  How very blessed!
