When he (Paul) had finished speaking he knelt down and prayed with them all. They were all weeping loudly as they threw their arms around Paul and kissed him, for they were deeply distressed that he had said that they would never see his face again. Then they escorted him to the ship. Acts_20:28-38
This was the Ephesians’ response to Paul’s farewell speech. They loved him so dearly that they wept (loudly) at his departure. Whom do we know, beloved, that we may never see again, after our last, or next, separation? Do we bid farewell to every person we ever separate from as though it might be our very last encounter. Think about it. We never know! Let that LOVE show!
Jesus, in praying to His Father for His disciples said, “I gave them your word, and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world any more than I belong to the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world but that you keep them from the Evil One. They do not belong to the world
any more than I belong to the world.” Jn 17:11b-19
It just makes us wonder, beloved, how much do we belong to the world? Are our lives consecrated to God? Or are we just lip-service to our faith. Jesus loves us so much, that he is always praying that we be protected from the “evil one” as well. Remain in His Love, beloved, always!
