05-27-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

May 27, 2015
(St. Augustine of Canterbury, Monk)
In answer to the disciples’ request for the glory of sitting at His right and left in the Kingdom that He spoke of, Jesus said, “whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all.  For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.”  Mk 10:32-45

So whenever we get those feelings of being ignored, beloved, of not getting our just and fair reward, of missing out on that high and mighty recognition that everyone else seems to get, remember these words of Jesus and relax.  God sees our efforts and God knows our hearts desires.  If those desires are based on our love of Him and our love for one another, we WILL receive what Justice demands when we come into His Kingdom.  And it will be a glory beyond even the highest throne we can imagine, here in this ‘worldly’ life!
