05-28-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

(Saint Mary Ann de Paredes)
A blind man pleaded for Jesus’ pity.  Jesus said to him in reply, “What do you want me to do for you?”  The blind man replied to him, “Master, I want to see.” Jesus told him, ‘Go your way; your faith has saved you.”  Immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way.
Mk 10:46-52

Interesting!  Mark’s record of Jesus’ response to the blind man used the exact same words as Jesus’ response to the disciples request for glory in yesterday’s Gospel reading, “What do you want me to do for you?”  And yet, the request for glory resulted in Jesus’ correction of their self-centered mindsets, while the request for sight resulted in vision for the blind man because of the faith he had in Jesus.  Jesus said, when we have faith, we can move mountains.  And our souls knows when what we ask for is out of selfishness or for the greater glory of God.

In all we do, beloved, always give the glory to God, and we will never find ourselves wanting of anything we need!
