07-10-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

July 10, 2015
There are several good quotes today . . .
Jacob departed from Beer-sheba, and the sons of Israel put their father and their wives and children on the wagons that Pharaoh had sent for his transport.” Gn_46:1-7, 28-30

Interesting how those Israelites were ushered into Egypt on a red carpet and had to force their way out, pursued by an angry army!

Jesus said to his Apostles: “Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves.”  Mt 10:16-23

Wouldn’t have been bad advice for those Israelites either – and even for us for that matter.  Shrewd and Simple!

And the ultimate advise:  Jesus said, “do not worry about how you are to speak
or what you are to say.  You will be given at that moment what you are to say.  For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”  ibid

Jesus said – ‘Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.’  And how do we do that when we haven’t a clue what we are to say?  “DON’T Worry!”  The Holy Spirit will give us the words!  Ever find yourself without words, beloved?  Maybe it’s just supposed to be that way! Ever hear yourself saying beautiful things, and you have no idea where they came from?  That’s the Holy Spirit speaking through you.
Just listen and Enjoy!
