08-11-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

August 11, 2015
(St. Claire of Assisi, Virgin)
Moses spoke to Joshua saying, “Be brave and steadfast; have no fear or dread of them, for it is the LORD, your God, who marches with you; he will never fail you or forsake you.”   Dt 31:1-8

And in whom does the LORD show Himself to us?

The disciples approached Jesus and said, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?”  He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said, “Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven.  Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.  And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me.”   Mt 18:1-5, 10, 12-14

It’s interesting to listen to the little story of St. Claire that Fr. James gives us in the Apostleship of Prayer link above.  It was a child who encouraged St. Claire that her prayer to God would be answered.  And it was answered, just as she prayed!  Though it may sometimes be hard, beloved, we must never ignore the words of a child.  For you never know when they just might be the words of God to us!

And then as LIFE-believing Christians, beloved, what does that say about all those people lost in professing that anyone has the “right” to take the life of a child before he or she is even born?  How many lives might those children have saved if they were allowed the LIFE that God had given to them?

Pray for the children.  Pray for the mothers.
And take a stand always, for LIFE!
