08-13-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

August 13, 2015
(Sts. Pontian and Hippolytus)
Peter approached Jesus and asked him, “Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him?  As many as seven times?”  Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times.”  Mt 18:21–19:1

One of the prime things that makes love, LOVE, is being able to forgive.  Not forcibly forgiving because it’s something we are told to do or feel guilty to do.  But something we do because we know, in the heart of our souls, that somewhere deep inside that other person is another person just like me, another person just like Jesus.  Love is being able to discern the action from the person, being able to separate humanity from divinity.

Pray, beloved, that Jesus will help us to learn how to Love just as He loves all of us, warts and all!
