08-16-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

(Twentieth Sunday Ordinary Time B)
Wisdom has built her house, . . .
“Let whoever is simple turn in here; To the one who lacks understanding, she says, Come, eat of my food, and drink of the wine I have mixed!  Forsake foolishness that you may live; advance in the way of understanding.” Prv_9:1-6

We begin therefore, beloved, by becoming “simple.”  We begin by letting go of thinking that we know it all.  We begin by letting go of being better than, richer, wiser or holier than everyone else.  We begin by being simple.  And then we open our hearts to the Lord’s wisdom.  She will teach and encourage and help us to truly know LOVE.  A love that comes from the very heart of Jesus.  And Jesus invites us to feast with Him, to feast ON Him!

Jesus said, “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.  Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me.”  Jn 6:51-58

So COME, beloved, in the simplicity of hunger, and feast on the living Word of God, given to us in Christ Jesus.  And you WILL be filled!
