09-28-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

September 28, 2015
(St. Wenceslaus)
John said to Jesus, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name  and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow in our company.”  Jesus said to him,  “Do not prevent him, for whoever is not against you is for you.”  Lk_9:46-50

The evil eye?  Maybe they just have a bad set of contacts, and they weren’t even thinking of YOU.  A sharp remark?  Maybe they’re having a really bad day and the least bit of anything would set them off.  Cut you off in the car?  Maybe they were waiting there for 15-minutes and no one would let them in.

Maybe instead of being judgmental and defensive of every little act we see or perceive in others, we place in our hearts a little kindness, a little patience, a little LOVE, maybe the world just wouldn’t seem as bad as we make it out to be.  Maybe instead, we’ll start to see a little love come back to us in return, in place of what we’ve perceived as personal attacks.

Jesus said, whoever is not against you is for you.  Let’s make sure they’re really not doing whatever it is that sets off our hot buttons, as attacks, and maybe make a friend instead!  (My whisper to myself – as well, beloved).  God bless!
