10-18-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

October 18, 2015
(29th Sunday Ordinary Time B)
Jesus said, “whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all.  For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mk_10:35-45

Maybe the most absurd thing we can hear today.  Maybe throughout all time.  Servant – great?  Slave – first?  God – servant?  God’s life for us?!!!

Yes, beloved.  It IS the truth!  Our ransom has been paid,  by none less than God Himself!  Appreciate it!  Follow His example and lead others as their servants, just as Jesus did!  And blessed may you be!
