10-19-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

October 19, 2015
(Saints John de Brébeuf and Isaac Jogues, Priests, and Companions, Martyrs)
God said to the rich miser, “You fool, this night your life will be demanded of you; and the things you have prepared, to whom will they belong?’  Thus will it be for the one who stores up treasure for himself but is not rich in what matters to God.” Lk_12:13-21

Seems we save and save and save – for the ‘one day’ when we will finally be able to sit back and enjoy all those savings.  But, by the time that day ever gets there, the money is worth half what it was when it was saved, or the medical expenses so eclipse that savings that it’s gone in a just few days.  What’s the use, beloved!!  Trust in God.  Save up riches for heaven:  prayers, almsgiving, compassion, helping the needy, teaching the ignorant – bringing others to God!  Those are the riches God is looking for and those are the ones that will truly save us!
