10-30-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

October 30, 2015
The Pharisees were again pestering Jesus about the details of the Jewish Law on sabbath day restrictions.  Jesus said to the Pharisees, “Who among you, if your son or ox falls into a cistern, would not immediately pull him out on the sabbath day?”  But they were unable to answer his question.  Lk 14:1-6

Funny how we can become so legalistic when it comes to our own benefit.  Yet, when was the last time we actually drove the speed limit or less, instead of exceeding it by at least 5 mph?  Want to try something really hard?  Try driving the limit or just under, for a week.  See if you can deal with all the people tailing you, giving you fingers and even honking!  Jesus wasn’t taking about breaking the law for his own benefit.  He was talking about doing it for the benefit of others, who really needed help.  Sometimes common sense is so obvious!  Reach out, beloved, and love someone in need today!
