Jesus said, “. . . there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.” Lk_15:1-10
Depending on our mood, it seems that we love to help the underdog. Be it a child with a deadly disease, a parent who lost their job, a race being persecuted by another, we are a people of kindness. But be it, in the least, that the underdog can fend for himself in any way, and we’re the first to persecute him even more. It might be called fickle or even injustice!
But our God is not fickle nor unjust. He seeks out the sinners who willingly repent their wrongdoings and come back to Him. Jesus was constantly helping the poor, the sick, the underdog, with no holds barred, if they were willing to believe, if they were willing to repent. So the attitude that we’ll never get to heaven because we are not, nor ever will be perfect enough, is not founded. because our God is a loving God who will always rejoice when we come back to Him. So never give up, beloved. Come back to God!
