11-17-15 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

November 17, 2015
(St. Elizabeth of Hungary, Religious)
Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, “Behold, half of my possessions, Lord, I shall give to the poor, and if I have extorted anything from anyone I shall repay it four times over.”  And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house because this man too is a descendant of Abraham.  For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost.”   Lk_19:1-10

Feeling lost beloved?  Maybe it’s time to give a little.  Zacchaeus was considered a thieving, tax collector.  But something inside of him lit up his spirit to seek and to find this Messiah, this Savior named Jesus.  And when he found him, there was total conversion – metanoia!  Zacchaeus was so “found” that he was willing to give back anything he was thought to have extorted to the poor, even to the extent of multiplying it 4-times over.  Sometimes when life seems to have lost its flavor,  beloved, we can spice it back up by coming back to Jesus and giving a little to those in need.
