(St. Paul Miki and Companions, Martyrs)
. . . the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream at night. God said, “Ask something of me and I will give it to you.” . . . Solomon answered, “I serve you in the midst of the people whom you have chosen, a people so vast that it cannot be numbered or counted. Give your servant, therefore, an understanding heart to judge your people and to distinguish right from wrong. For who is able to govern this vast people of yours?” 1_Kgs_3:4-13
Wisdom. How many of us are wise enough to even think about asking for wisdom? And yet, it’s through wisdom that we receive and give love. It’s through wisdom that we gain friendships. And it’s through wisdom that we receive wealth. Solomon received all and was esteemed, not only by his own nation, but by rulers of far distant countries as well.
So seek always, the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, beloved. And all will go well for you. And praise our Lord, Jesus for the gift!
