02-17-16 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

February 17, 2016
Jesus said, “At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here.” Lk_11:29-32

Jesus tells us that just as Jonah was a sign to the people of Nineveh to turn away from their evil, so is Jesus to us.  Jesus is our warning.  Jesus is our hope, that when we repent of our sinfulness, God will relent and shower us with His grace.  And in reality, by living in our sin, we simply become blinded to God’s grace all around us.  Want to live a better life, beloved?  Then let’s use this Lent to clean out the sin in our closets, in our lives, and live the grace that abounds.  Open up our eyes to the beauty and not the evil surrounding us.  Oh, there is such beauty!!!
