(Fourth Sunday Lent, C)
God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting their trespasses against them and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.  So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us.  We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.   2_Cor_5:17-21

Reconciliation.  It’s such a beautiful act.  And yet, it truly has to come from the heart.  It’s not just words.  I’m sorry, doesn’t mean very much when it’s not really true.  That’s what repentance is, beloved, being truly sorry in your heart.  When we repent to one another and to God, only then, is real reconciliation possible.  God wants, so much, for us to get along with one another and with Him.  And He’s taken the step to make that possible, through Jesus.  Jesus will help our hearts find both the strength to repent and the desire to be truly reconciled.  St. Paul said it well, “We implore you brothers and sisters, on behalf of Christ, be reconciled!
