03-16-16 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

March 16, 2016
Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, “If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”  Jn_8:31-42

They proceeded to argue with Jesus about what freedom and slavery really meant.  What are we slaves to, beloved?  Are we slaves to our jobs?  Are we slaves to the almighty dollar?  Are we slaves to sin, feeling guilty about half the things we think and do?  Jesus teaches us what true freedom really is.  It is a state of mind in which there is no guilt, no hatred, no regrets, because everything we think and do is ordered in all the truths that Jesus taught:  Love God and love one another and make everything bloom out of that love.   Jesus will see us through any tough times we encounter and in the process we will just breeze through them.  That’s freedom.  Practice those truths, beloved.  And with time we will find ourselves more and more free!
