God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.
. . . whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God. Jn_3:16-21
When our little son or daughter is about to pick up a piece of burning coal, we might shriek in fear that they will surely hurt themselves. We’re not shrieking in anger against our child, rather out of love that they don’t get hurt. Jesus didn’t come to condemn us, but to save us out of His great love for us! He explained the truth about what can hurt us and what will save us. If we just listen to Jesus with an open mind, we WILL gain eternal life – in love with God, forever. What greater sign could God have given us, than to see our resurrected Lord; something impossible and unexplainable in human terms, but unquestionably TRUE for all who believe!
