04-08-16 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

April 8, 2016
After recalling the Apostles, they (the Sanhedrin) had them flogged, ordered them to stop speaking in the name of Jesus, and dismissed them.  So they left the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they had been found worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name.  And all day long, both at the temple and in their homes, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the Christ, Jesus.   Acts_5:34-42

The Apostles recalled the Beatitude that Jesus taught while on the “mountain” described by Matthew . . .

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me.  Mt_5:10-11

So REJOICE, beloved!

Christians have been persecuted and hated, ever since Jesus’ began His ministry.  The Apostles and Saints throughout the ages have carved a path for us, following in the footsteps of Jesus.  Preaching and living lives of righteousness IS what pleases God.  And Jesus has told us enough times, that God sees, knows and will reward us for that life.  Death has no hold on us.  For we know that we will be with God for eternity, blessed!
