04-24-16 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

April 24, 2016
(Fifth Sunday of Easter, C)
Jesus said to His disciples, “My children, I will be with you only a little while longer.  I give you a new commandment: love one another.  As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.  This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”  Jn_13:31-33a,34-35

ALL WILL KNOW!

Beloved, God’s love for us – ALL of us, is not something we should hold so closely in our hearts, that no one will ever know.  God’s love is something we should be shouting from the rooftops.  And how do we shout it?  We shout it out through our own example.  The example Jesus modeled for us.  We love one another.  We love the hopeless.  We love the one who is so immersed in himself that he doesn’t even notice us.  We love the one who never loves us back.  And God will take care of the rest!  Like the worker on the assembly line, we may never see the final product.  But we do our part the absolute best we can, so that final product NEVER fails, because of our part.  That part is the spark of God’s love.  It heals, it cures, it brings life and it LASTS Forever!  Praise Jesus!
