04-29-16 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

April 29, 2016
(St. Catherine of Siena)
Jesus said, “It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you.  This I command you: love one another.” Jn_15:12-17

We can make the same analogy today as we did yesterday – with our own children.  They did not choose us, but WE chose them!  We may not have chosen the timing of their arrival (God did).  We may not have chosen their sex (God did).  We may not have even chosen their good or nasty looks, or personalities, or tempers – BUT we do have “a say” in molding that little person – into someone who will emerge Beautiful – of heart and Beautiful of soul.  And that “say” that we have, comes purely from Jesus, from the way we pass on His Word, His Commandment – TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER to those WE love!  That’s the most immeasurable heritage we can possibly pass on to anyone!

And as for us children!  We are just to know, that we have parents who truly LOVE us.  Whether they be here on earth, in this phase of our lives, or in Heaven!  Our heavenly Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit have proven that love in more ways than we can count.  Praise be to God!
