05-17-16 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

May 17, 2016
Taking a child, he placed it in their midst, and putting his arms around it, he (Jesus) said to them (His disciples), “Whoever receives one child such as this in my name, receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not me but the One who sent me.”  Mk_9:30-37

As parents, we get just a glimpse of how God feels about us.  There are disappointments, setbacks, failures, but through it all, God still loves us, just as we love our own children.  We ARE God’s children.  God wants us to love everyone as though they are our children too.  Yes, they may disappoint us.  They may shun us and even hate us – but they ARE God’s children too.  And so they are our brothers and sisters as well.  Jesus tells us to receive them in love anyway and the God who loves will be with us always!
