08-03-16 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

August 3, 2016
After observing how easily Peter was distracted from faith in Jesus in the water treading exercise, Jesus was approached by a Gentile (non-Jewish) woman for the healing of her daughter.  Jesus threw her a roadblock in saying that He only came for the Jews.  But she persisted, upon which Jesus said to her in reply, “O woman, great is your faith!  Let it be done for you as you wish.”  And her daughter was healed from that hour.   Mt_15: 21-28

How are we with roadblocks, beloved?

Oh, it’s cancer.  Oh, my dog, or my mom, or my best friend died.  Oh I lost that job.  Oh I’m not good enough for God . . . !  How can I believe when so much is going wrong?  PERSISTENCE!

Hurdles are simply exercise tools to strengthen our thighs, to stretch our faith.  What is faith if it is not proven through our actions.  If I truly believe, then throw all the hurdles you want at me, and I’ll still believe!  Just keep jumping, beloved, for someday the big one will come and God will be right there to cheer us on to our final goal . . . eternal life with Him!  I believe in YOU!
