08-08-16 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

August 8, 2016
(St. Dominic, Priest)
As Jesus and his disciples were gathering in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is to be handed over to men, and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day.” And they were overwhelmed with grief.   Mt_17:22-27

No, the prospect of death, and even murder is not a joyous one.  The disciples were grieved at Jesus talking about his death.  But they didn’t catch the next phrase that really should have given them Joy!  Death was NOT the end.  For Jesus would be raised.  And that resurrection would be the greatest thing the world has ever known.  Death is NOT the end!!!!
