(St. Lawrence, Deacon and Martyr)
St. Paul wrote, “Brothers and sisters: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2_Cor_9:6-10
Does it hurt, beloved, to give away what you worked hard to get? Does it hurt to lose by theft, something you cherished? You bet, it’s difficult. But turn that resentment around to thinking maybe that person you gave it to, or maybe that person who stole it from you really, really needed it a whole lot more than you did. Yes, it feels good to give away of your extra to make someone feel happy. But when we give away ALL that we’ve got and all that we’ve worked hard for, just imagine, just know, beloved, that God will reward us in even greater abundance; if not in this life, in the next!
Blessed be our God!
