09-25-16 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

September 25, 2016
(26th Sunday Ordinary Time C)
Jesus told a parable about a heartless, rich man and a desperate poor man who both died.  The rich man went to the place of eternal suffering while the poor to the place of eternal bliss with his forefather Abraham.  The rich man begged pity…

Abraham replied, ‘My child, remember that you received what was good during your lifetime while Lazarus likewise received what was bad; but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented.  Moreover, between us and you a great chasm is established to prevent anyone from crossing who might wish to go from our side to yours or from your side to ours.’   Lk_16:19-31

The “Great Chasm.”  I think there is probably nothing that pains God more than to see His beloved children on the other side of that chasm.  We are given all the opportunities possible in this life to end up on the ‘right’ side.  And in the end, it’s our own choice.  Believe in Jesus, beloved, and have faith!
